Founder and Principal Lawyer

In a legal career spanning more than 30 years, Jason Meyer has served in the roles of Founder, President, CEO and general manager as well as General Counsel, Chief Legal Officer, and Chief Ethics and Compliance Officer. He has also been a lawyer in private practice with major East Coast law firms and, since 2009, he has been the principal lawyer in The Law Office of Jason B. Meyer, LLC.

He is also a Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional (CCEP), and a former Chair of the Ethics, Compliance, and Corporate Governance Committee of the NJ Corporate Counsel Association. He earned his law degree cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania School of Law, was a visiting student at the University of Miami Law School, and earned his B.A. with high honors from Princeton University’s School of Public and International Affairs.

Jason has substantial experience in all of the areas of primary concern to growing, privately-held businesses, including corporate formation and governance; private capital; buying and selling businesses and M&A; employment matters; intellectual property law and licensing; business operations; regulatory compliance; and all manners of contracts and transactions. His industry experience encompasses the life sciences (including nutritional supplements, pharmaceuticals, and medical technology) and the fields of education, compliance, integrated services and SaaS, government contracting, construction and trades, and the media, among others.

Jason started his legal career practicing litigation with big firms, including Miami’s Steel, Hector & Davis, and, in New Jersey, Lowenstein Sandler, and Dechert.

However, most of his legal career has been spent providing general counsel to businesses and organizations. Jason served as Chief Legal Officer for Eduneering Holdings, Inc., a provider of cloud-based compliance software and education, and the training partner of the FDA and AdvaMed. (The company is now ULEduneering.) He partnered with the sales effort at that company to develop and maintain a rapid, repeatable process to negotiate and close license agreements with clients. On his watch, the company was sold to a public company and purchased another company. He also ran a business unit for EduNeering. Jason also led the education unit of the world’s largest provider of ethics and compliance education (LRN), and was Founder, Publisher and General Counsel of LAWCAST, an innovative continuing legal education company.

Jason serves as the Chair of his town’s Economic Development Commission. Jason’s own business interests have also included a family-owned Georgia wine and liquor distributorship, a magazine publishing company, a radio station, and consulting ventures. His involvement has ranged from investment to operational roles. Jason is also a former broadcaster, Scout Leader, and entrepreneurship Mentor to a high school FIRST robotics team.
